The ability to resolve conflicts by finding common values is crucial to promoting peace within the United States, between the US and other countries, and between different peoples across the world. Individuals who seek to promote peace, whether they are acting alone or on behalf of groups or governments, must have the skills necessary to establish rapport with and build trust among different peoples.  

 

The goals for the Institute are to promote civil communication, relationship-building, common values, and mediation of conflicts, as well as increasing students’ understanding of the world.  The Atlanta Institute for Diplomatic Leadership works with young people who are beginning to explore their place in the world and their ability to affect positive change, and provide them with a sense of hope, as well as the skills necessary to be successful.
